Today the Type team’s mission is to make sophisticated and even experimental typefaces that explore the possibilities of design and technology. With Google, the font is called NoTo, Adobe calls it Source Han. The font is great as it contains major Asian character sets (Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean and English) and it is available in 7 weights (SimSun is only available in one weight). The Adobe Originals program started in 1989 as an in-house type foundry at Adobe, brought together to create original typefaces of exemplary design quality, technical fidelity, and aesthetic longevity. That font is available for free from Google fonts and Adobe.
